Midwest Community in Kent is located on Main Street in the historic downtown. With quick access to many local parks, Acorn Alley, and Kent State University itself, the location welcomes people into the downtown area. With over 7,000 square feet of space, the facility is divided into two main areas of service for both Vocational Habilitation and Adult Day Services. The Vocational area is a large, open space with plenty of room for whatever contracts may come through the door to provide work experiences to those who attend. The Adult Day Service space is divided into a Media Room, a craft area and a Sensory Room, to allow people to disperse more throughout the entire space and create more of the day that they desire. The entire program is curriculum-based, to allow the opportunity to learn new tasks and create skills geared toward gaining independent living.
