The Midwest Community Center located in Navarre contains various opportunities for the individuals we serve. At this location Midwest has a sensory room, an art room, a reading/game room, a central meeting space, a relaxation room, and more. This location’s programs are specifically designed for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities who may have more intense medical needs.
Our program enables adults to participate in structured group-based programs that nurture new skills. We are currently offering music, art, photography, life skills, dance, social skills, vocational training, computer skills, drama, and other classes. We emphasize development of motor skills, attention span, task completion, and attendance.
A wide variety of methods are used to teach with the focus on finding how everyone learns best. All our staff have experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Our staff also have experience in teaching the respective courses that we offer.
