Our Management Team

Joseph B. Knetzer
President

Joseph KnetzerSince graduating from Denison University with a BA degree in 1985, Joe has spent his entire career in residential services administration.

He has direct experience in the implementation of all types of residential programs and supports offered in Ohio including: Supported Living, HCBS Waivers, RFW Settings, ICF/MR Services, Family Resource Services, Capital Housing Programs, Respite and Quality Assurance.

Joe has been active in the community and professional organizations for many years. He has also served on the Dalton local school board and was president of the Dalton Area Chamber of Commerce from 2001 to 2006. He is a past board member of the Ohio Supported Living Association and a member of the Ohio Self Determination Association and the American Network of Community Options and Services .

Kristine Knetzer
Director of Health Services

Kristine KnetzerKristine Knetzer is a Registered Nurse with twenty years of residential services experience. During that time, she has directed health and program services for people with multiple disabilities in all types of residential settings. She is experienced with HCBS Waiver, RFW, ICF/MR, Supported Living and CAFS funded services.

In 1997, Kristine earned the distinction of qualifying as Certified Developmental Disabilities Nurse (C.D.D.N.). She is also a certified Mediation Administration Course Instructor, Qualified Metal Retardation Professional and CPR/First Aid Instructor.

Kristine graduated from the Massillon Community Hospital School of Nursing in 1984. She is on the Advisory Committee for the Professional Societies/Organizations Health Services and a Member of the Developmental Disabilities Nurses Association (DDNA).

Jon Hudak
CEO

Jon HudakJon joined the Midwest team in July of 2015. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics with a minor in Business from Ohio University, and, an MBA in Finance from The University of Akron. Prior to joining Midwest, Jon had a successful 18 year career in commercial banking.

Jon’s journey in working with developmental disabilities started over 13 years ago with his son Kevin who has cerebral palsy and other developmental disabilities. Jon and his wife Karen have been trained and have an individualized home treatment for Kevin to help him physically, intellectually, nutritionally, and socially, so he can reach his fullest potential. The Hudak’s believe that all who care for a person who is differently-abled know that they all should be treated with compassion and respect.

Jordan Knetzer
Vice President

Jordan KnetzerHaving been a part of the family business since he was a child, Jordan began his career with Midwest Health Services in 2007 working as a Direct Care Professional in group home and day program settings. After completing his BA in Business Administration in 2016 he began his role as Vice President. Jordan now assists the President and CEO in expanding the outstanding programs Midwest offers throughout Ohio.


Jessica Edwards
Director of Program Services

Jessica EdwardsJessica has been with MIDWEST Health Services for nearly 10 years, overseeing three Intermediate Care Facilities. She earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree and a Master of Science Degree from the University of Akron. Jessica currently holds a variety of positions with MIDWEST, including Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional, Regional Director, and Compliance & Privacy Officer. She played an integral role in the creation and implementation of the FASTRAK Management Development Program, designed for Direct Support Staff who desire to further their careers in the field of intellectual disabilities. Jessica is a 2017 graduate of the OPRA ADVANCE Leadership Class and has invested a great deal of time learning to develop future leaders in the field, including improving employment retention rates and job satisfaction in todays work force.

Jessica has extensive training in the areas of Behavioral Health and Positive Behavior Interventions, Human Rights, Trauma Informed Care and Recovery, Crisis Intervention Strategies, Compassion Fatigue, and Person Centered Practices, as well as excellent working knowledge of the current Local, State and Federal Regulations that govern the Intermediate Care Facilities.

Jessica enjoys being a part of a family-owned organization whose focus is to provide services to people with disabilities in a way that positively impacts each life. Her personal belief is that this line of work is a 'calling' and those who are called to serve, doing so unconditionally, are truly a gift! There is no greater love than those who dedicate their lives to the service of others .

Kathi Good
Regional Director, Wayne, Ashland, Holmes Counties

Kathi GoodKathi is a United States Army Reserve Medical Specialist and certified teacher. She holds a BA from Hiram College. She is also a member of the Hiram College Athletic Hall of Fame.

Kathi has been with Midwest Health since 1998. She has worked as direct care, manager, program coordinator, program director, and recently County Administrator.

She is a certified TAPS instructor. Her professional training includes Understanding Dementia, Down's Syndrome, and Alzheimers Disease, Non Adversive behavior support strategies, Dealing effectively with unacceptable behavior, Grief in the DD population, self determination, supporting and understanding communication, autism, safeguarding adults from abuse.

Nancy Kellar
director of training, compliance, quality assurance and certification assurance

Nancy KellarNancy Kellar has more than two decades of experience in the administration of residential services for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Nancy has been developing, implementing and monitoring behavior management plans for people with challenging behaviors since 1980. She has extensive experience in the supervision of staff and services for people with disabilities in all types of residential settings in Ohio and has served as the Director of the Adult Education Department at the Colin Anderson Center in West Virginia.

Prior to joining Midwest, Nancy served NEON as a Program Manager providing technical support to Supported Living/Waiver Providers and County Board of Developmental Disabilities staff in Stark and Geauga Counties.

Nancy believes in "Person First" services and supports in quality living environments. Her role is to ensure that staff understand each individual's requirements as identified by the individual and his or her interdisciplinary team. Nancy supervises all aspects of our programs to ensure that the supports developed in the Individual Service Plan are implemented.

She has a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and a Master's Degree in Special Education-Severe and Profound Handicaps from West Virginia University.

Michelle McPherson
Regional Director, Licking, Knox, Muskingum, Ross Counties

Michelle McPhersonMichelle McPherson joined Midwest Family of Companies on August 10, 2007and has 21 years of experience in the field, starting out as Direct Care Staff and advancing from there.

Current Certificates Held: Dual Diagnosis Colaberation, Developing Positive Performance and Culture, Working with Individuals who have Mental Illness and Developmental Disabilities in Crisis Situations, Core Concepts, Fostering an Enhanced System of Care for People with Dual Diagnosis-Treatment and Placement Considerations, MUI and TAPS/QUEST trainer.

Michelle currently is on the Local Safety Council Committee; the TEN Committee (The Excellence Network)-partnering with County Boards and Providers revolutionizing the culture of service deliveries in Ohio; BSRC of Licking County and Person Centered Thinking - "Helping people get better lives not just better plans".
